November 26th, 2012 It has come to the attention of the MRA that locals are being denied work in the demolition and building of walls etc in st. Mary's Park. Residents are dismayed that the health and safety with Kelly demolition is nil in st. Mary's park. The MRA was unendated with calls from people in st Mary's Park complaining about the health and safety standards Kelly's Demolition are upholding. So for gods sake before someone is killed or injured will the people over Regeneration Mr. Oliver O Loughlin try and get onto Kelly's Demolition and to get them to uphold the proper standards of Health and Safety and also try to get them to hire locals. The people of Moyross had terrible problems with Kelly's Demolition in Moyross in which one child was lucky, she was nearly knocked down by one of their trucks which can be seen further back the news page and also in the press release called Issues With Health And Safety.
November 15th, 2012 Homeowner in Delmege Park house boarded up over anti-social behavior, the people of Delmege are sick of it. There is also a homeowner with bars on his front door and perspects on his windows now this can not be a normal way to live. The MRA are unendated with calls that the residents do not want anymore anti social and no more people to be ran out of their houses. There is also a tenant in between these two houses in which they must be terrified said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA.
We have to say the Gardai are doing their job up in the patrols in the area. November 15th, 2012 There is a big issue with the ''Berlin Wall'' as the residents call it in Delmege Park. It is an illegal wall separating Thomond Village from Delmege Park its a discrimination against the people of Moyross. This wall was meant to be a temporary wall and was only meant to be there for 12 to 18 months and here we are 8 to 10 years down the line and still it stands. It has structural damage and is now a health risk to the children playing in the green areas where the wall stands. There is one length actually broke right down the center and 5 to 6 inches of the wall is sticking out which can be seen in the images below. Tom Daly was in discussion with Len Dineen jnr. on Thursday about the situation in Thomond Village and fair play to Len, he was very helpful when Tom Daly discussed the situation with him about this Berlin Wall dividing us, he said he has no more to do with Thomond Village but he got in contact with the people responsible for the dangerous wall. The individual that is over it was not there on Thursday and the secretary from the Thomond Village rang Tom Daly and said that there would be someone calling him back on Friday regarding the issue. It is unbelievable and we are thankful that this wall has not fallen down and hurt or even killed one of the kids said Tom Daly. We are showing the photos of this dangerous wall below to show people what we are dealing with. Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson of the MRA was disgusted by the way that the people of Moyross are treated and especially Delmege Park when this ''temporary'' Berlin Wall of Delmege was erected. Why couldn't they carry on with the fence and wall to left of the photo above which is part of the Thomond Village instead of building this health risk of a structure which is held together in places with sticks which is clearly visible above and below in the images. You can actually shake the wall without force and it moves back and forth. This is highly dangerous this wall has to be knocked because it is blatantly breaking the health and safety code and is clearly telling the people of Moyross that they are not cared for.
November 9th, 2012 The Limerick Toy Show Committee would like to announce that the Toy Show for 2012 will not go ahead due to circumstances beyond their control. We regret to announce this and unfortunately we will miss not being able to help the charities this year but maybe next year we can have a proper venue in place. Jamie Daly and Martin O Halloran were unendated with calls with people asking for tickets but unfortunately they had to tell them that the show was not going ahead. We promise that next year we will have a venue 6 months in advance and we will have the limerick toy show back and bigger than ever. November 6th, 2012 The MRA Chairperson and Vice Chair Calling all sides in Moyross causing anti-social behavior to stop as it is only letting our own community down. The people living in Moyross are good people and they are letting themselves down. For gods sake Christmas is only around the corner and people want to have a happy festive season and the kids want to be out playing on the greens and community areas so we can do without this anti-social behavior. It is doing no body any good and someone will only get hurt or maimed so for gods sake see reality and cop your self on and stick to playing football and handball as ye are all very very talented in these fields in which you have proven in the past. The MRA wish you all a very happy Christmas and happy new year.
October 16th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance and Limerick City Council got the bungalows in Delmege Park Boarded up as there were kids playing on the roofs of them and somebody would have been maimed or killed said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA.
September 16th, 2012 On Sunday the 16th of September the Moyross Residents Alliance held a Cake Sale and Brick-a-Brack sale in conjunction with Live 95fm Stop Tour in aid of Cari and the Ark Unit in the Regional Hospital Limerick. Again we have to take our hat off to the people of Moyross and especially the people of Delmege Park who fought wind and rain to support this event. Tom Daly Chairperson of the Moyross Residents Alliance would like to thank all of the people who donated to these great causes and also like to thank 95fm on their hard work that they are doing trying to organise these events in these very very hard times. People came along Sunday and some people gave 5euro for a bun and some people gave 2euro for one packet of crisps and another gentlemen came along and gave 10euro for 2 cans of coke. It was unbelievable the way that these people came along to help. We made a substantial amount in which we are very pleased with in these very hard pressed times. Again thank you for all of your help to the people of Moyross. Chairperson (Tom Daly) and Vice Chairperson (Martin O Halloran).

Due to a very brief meeting between Chairperson Tom Daly and Oliver O’Loughlin in Limerick City Council offices also representative of the BWRA Matt Collins, Cathal McCarthy of Weston Gardens Association and Dave McNamara of the MRA and Steven Corbit of the BWRA, Mr. Daly was not impressed with the attitude of Mr. O’Loughlin he turned around and said there is only one way forward and that was with his local forums in the regeneration areas. There is no body that recognizes these forums in these areas. The last meeting of the forum in Delmege Park only one person went and he was a MRA Resident which went up to see could he get any information on what was happening and was told absolutely nothing, so how in the honor of God can Mr O’Loughlin turn around and ask us to join forums that does not represent us and our community views. The MRA has done more things for Moyross and Limerick than regeneration and the council has done in over 5 years, they have wasted millions, god only knows where the money has went so we say to Mr O’Loughlin if he wants to sit down and talk to the MRA committee they will meet him and discuss the issues of the residents in Moyross. You also now have no anti-social behavior offices in Limerick City Council which is a disgrace said Mr. Daly as Anti-Social is on the up again. Two or Three residents only said last week that they reported issues to the council of anti-social and nothing was done about it. They said that they are looking for applicants to apply for the job. We did not see any applications in the paper supporting this said Mr. Daly. So Mr. Daly says to Mr O’Loughlin you said at the meeting that you are better off being inside the tent urinating out than outside urinating in. I am saying this in a polite manner but Mr O’Loughlin said it in a different way which we found very disturbing.

The Moyross Residents alliance are having a cake sale and a tea and coffee and brick-a-brack anything goes. Bring your kids along and enjoy a good evening out, all proceeds from the sale will go to 95fm on their tour to support Cari and also the Ark Unit in the Regional Dooradoyle Limerick. The Moyross people have always been very supportive of all of our charity events so we ask the people again to try and dig deep and come and support this tour with the Moyross Residents Alliance and Live 95fm. Event starting at 2 o clock until 6 Sunday the 16th of September with all freshly baked cakes. So get on the bus and enjoy it with us all the people of Limerick.
September 7th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance Chairperson Tom Daly and all of the members of the MRA send their deepest condolences to Pat and Majella Sheehan on the loss of their son Robert. It is a disgrace said Tom Daly a lad to go at such a young age. The Moyross Residents Alliance Chairperson was unendated with calls from people all over Limerick sending their condolences to Pat and Majella that he was such a good soccer player and loved Arsenal. May he rest in peace. From all of the residents of Moyross and Limerick. We pray to God that no other parents will have to go through what Pat and Majella had to endure, where there is God there is hope.

The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to thank all the people who text for them in tidy towns. We got over 50 % of the vote which was brilliant. We would also like to thank all of the locals who are cleaning and painting their area's not only in Delmege Park but all over Moyross. The MRA will be continuing their clean up of Delmege this week although their funds are very limited as we are an alliance that funds ourselves in which you can see in the beautiful garden we have built. We have put 16 thousand euro into our memorial garden in Delmege Park. We got no help from no one in the building of our lovely garden and it shows what can be done in other areas just like in Delmege. So if you are living in regeneration area's and there is a gap next to your home, write to the council and try explain to them that you have a plan and what you want to do and the council might come on board and give you permission because we are delighted in what we have accomplished. We would like to thank Frank Ryan and sons, Sandra Bennett and family for the support in having our memorial garden next door to them. Also all of the people who put in the hard work and are still to this day doing hard work, it is great. Of course you have people going around saying we got this grant and that grant but we can assure you that the MRA never got a penny from no one. Not from Limerick City Council nor Regeneration it was all the effort of the MRA and the people involved. The MRA was formed to help people through and uphold their rights through the regeneration process for the last 5 years and I have to say it was brilliant work that was done. We done documentaries and got M.E.P's involved, T.D's involved also to fight for peoples rights tenants and home owners through the regeneration which as a failure it was more like degeneration a type of ethnic cleansing. So I say to the people of Moyross, Keep up the good work as you can all be proud of your area's. The spirit in our community is still very strong in moyross.

The Moyross Residents Alliance is a self sponsored alliance, and sponsored the likes of Stars in the Hood, Monks V Gards The limerick toy show and all proceeds from these events went to charities such as St. Vincent DePaul, Crumlin Hospital for sick children, Regional Ark Unit, Benardos, St. Munchins Community Centre, Limerick Youth Service, Share a Dream, Cancer Research, Special Olympics and many more also Jay Red going to Las Vegas, The Friars Youth Camp which the regeneration agency was asked to sponsor Mr. Kenny said he would give 1 thousand euro and made the Friars fill out paperwork and the funds still never materialized but we still got by. All this work was done through Jamie Daly Chairperson for Events with the MRA and also Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson of the MRA, David and Angela McNamara and Cathal McCarthy, Deirdre Murphy and all the rest of the committee from the MRA who put in endless hours to make the kids happy through their summer and christmas holidays. We have never thought of ourselves, we just thought of christmas and to make christmas work for everyone not only in the regeneration areas but all of limerick and put smiles on young kids faces through the years.

The MRA Vice Chairperson Martin O Halloran are proud to be sponsors of Ballynanty Rovers football club in sponsoring balls, beacons and vests. We are very proud to be involved with ballynanty as parts of it comes under the regeneration remit aswel. We wish them the very best of luck in the season ahead and we also wish Moyross United the best of luck on their season ahead. Martin o Halloran himself has relations in Ballynanty and Martin is proud to have the MRA involved with them. In the photo below are Secretary of the MRA Deirdre Murphy and Angela McNamara Treasurer of the MRA with manager of Ballynanty Rovers Ray McMahon accepting these balls and beacons etc on behalf of the MRA.

The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to thank Gary Daly and Edward Hughes for the very hard work they done on the Community Garden in Delmege Park. When the weather was against us rain and wind, they had to dig up all the center pathways and re do them with concrete and stone, they also put a new floor in the green house. We would also like to thank other members of the MRA for their input and work into this garden. This garden has cost a lot of money and it has been soely sponsored by the MRA to show people what can be done in their area's if they take ownership of these gardens in their area's and look after them. It brings communities together as many people came to our garden and learned from it. This is why the people are proud of our community garden in Delmege. We would like to also thank the people of Moyross who came down to Delmege and gave a hand in the garden, we could go on forever thanking people as the help we got was enormous. So we say to the people in other area's If we can do it, you can do it.

Members of the MRA and the Delmege Park Community Garden committee putting new pathways down in their lovely garden. This community garden is built by the people of Delmege Park and all of the upkeep is paid for by the Moyross Residents Alliance. The Delmege Park Committee would like to thank the following, Frank Ryan who is paying the light bills in the garden and we would be lost without him as he is bearly surviving himself. Also Franks family who give a great hand in the garden expecially Peter. Also Dave Mc Namara and Angela Mc Namara who looks after the sewing of the flowers and more. Also Tom Daly and his familly and Martin O Halloran and Edward Hughes. The people of Delmge Park are very proud of this garden and it is a memorial garden aswel. We have a lovely new statue of Our Lady in which there will be a blessing in the Garden in August. We will update you on dates as we have them. We were promised funding last year to help pay for the running of the garden by Mr. Kenny but never materialize but we were used to that from Mr. Kenny saying one thing and meaning another. This garden is a garden of hope. It was the first garden to be built in memory of two lads who lost their lives so tragically and when you go into the garden there is just peace and traquillity in there. The kids love going in feeding the ducks and watering the flowers. So it is gonna be a big struggle for the people of Delmege going through hard times but with the help of god we will come through stronger with the help of the people of Delmege Park.

Illegal Rubish Dumping in Delmege Park It has come to the attention of the MRA Chairperson Tom Daly that the house hold dumping in Delmege Park is out of control. No wonder there is rat infestation in Delmege Park. There is a field across from 2 boarded houses in Delmege Park and over the ditch there is mounds of rubbish dumped. There are rats as big as cats there and one resident caught a rat in a cage and can be seen on our website mralimerick.com. So why in the honor of god are the council not doing something about this. They got complaints about it because 2 residents already reported it. This is disgraceful said Mr. Daly but again i say it would only happen in Delmege Park. Again as we said before its is like Moyross stops at the Community Center, it has been proved again and again. The people of Delmege, Pineview and Creaval Park are forgotten about as the community stops at the community center. We have an ongoing petition that is going over to the E.U and we are going to carry years of evidence with us on what is happening in Moyross by demoralizing us and forcing good people out of their homes.
July 9th, 2012 Members of the Moyross Residents Alliance donating a cheque to Brother Sean of the Franciscan Friars and they hope it will help them pay some of the costs towards helping the kids through the summer camp which is brilliant for the kids. We would like to thank all of the Monks and volunteers and a big thanks to Brother Thomas who put in a awful amount of work into this years summer camp. We also hope that other people and businesses will donate and try to help them as they could do with it. The MRA sent an email to Oliver o Loughlin The new CEO of Regeneration and begged him not to follow in the same footsteps as Mr. Kenny and try to donate something as this comes under social regeneration. There is no one else doing this kind of work so we hope the new CEO comes on board and helps these people.
July 4th, 2012 The MRA would like to thank Connor O Donoughe for working with the MRA in getting his house number 8 Delmege Park Demolished. The house was in a bad state and was a danger to the kids and if it was not demolished there would have been someone maimed or worse killed. The MRA chairperson Tom Daly had been campaigning for 2 years to have this house demolished and we have to say a very big thank you to Connor O Donoughe and the Staff of Limerick City Council in having this premises demolished. The people are delighted in Delmege Park, there is now no more anti-social and people do not have to worry about the fire brigade being called out at all hours of the night to get the fire in the house quenched. Also big thanks to the Irish Examiner and their reporter Dave Young for his story on the paper and highlighting the issue about the house and the shop in Delmege Park. It is great to have the national media involved as they are the only people who listen to the real truth and what is happening to the people in the regeneration area's.
June 21st, 2012 As we know the Friars in Moyross have their summer camp coming up, now these people do not get any money from no one, they do this out of their own pockets and the people that are involved with them such as the volunteers. Now Mr. Daly in a meeting with Mr. Kenny last year where Mr. Kenny promised he would give One Thousand Euro the Monks to help them with expenses for the couple of weeks. They made them fill out all of the application forms in which Brother Thomas done and handed them in to Mr. Kenny but the money never materialized which was a disgrace said Mr. Daly. Mr. Kenny didn't have the decency to write back to them. We find this is not doing our community any good as this comes under social regeneration. It is getting the kids off of the road for the 14 days and getting them involved in Events such as Mountain Climbing, Camping etc. Why in the honor of god are they not helping these people. The MRA is a self efficient alliance which was put in by the people and we can donate and help them with the expenses. We hope to god the new CEO of regeneration Oliver Loughlin will help these people as we are in very hard times and they are finding it hard to cope also.
June 20th, 2012 Members of the MRA cleaning up the square and cutting the lawns in Delmege Park and keeping the place tidy as we always do. We also look after our garden. There are some photos here of Angela and David Mc Namara planting flowers as we put in new flower beds and also Jade Daly watering the flowers and kids playing in the garden on the swing. This is what regeneration should be about, Community Participation and getting involved. The Delmege Park Community Garden is a garden built by the people, we put all of our own money into it. The Moyross Community Centre Garden has nothing to do with our garden and do not represent any of our issues down here. Moyross seems to stop at the Community Centre anyway, they forget about the rest of the people beyond that point.
June 16th, 2012 Thank you very much Mr. Kenny. You left the people of Delmege Park a great hobby before you left, Catching Rats!. Which now are nesting in the boarded up houses of Delmege Park and also Limerick City Council and their demolishers left the foundations of 3 bungalows in Delmege Park in which is Rat Infested. This is a disgrace said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA. Tom is unendated with calls from people ringing him up complaining about the rats. You can actually see the rats coming up from the foundations at night. This can not be tolerated. You can actually walk along the footpaths that are supposed to be taken up and also the foundations of the house. The skimmed the foundations with a bit of dirt and left it at that. It would only happen in our community of Moyross but all of this is being documented. There are photos being taken and sent over to the E.U because we are not going put up with this. We want all of the foundations taken up and done properly. It is only a matter of time before a child falls and injures his or her arms, legs or worse. We wonder who will take responsibility for that, this is why the MRA is highlighting these issues as this is blatantly breaking health and safety rules. Lets see common sense prevail and get this situation sorted out.
May 24th, 2012 It has come to the attention of the MRA that one of the engineers over the demolition in the regeneration areas of Limerick is going on 5 weeks holidays. What a time he picks to go when there is a load of houses to be demolished in both north and south sides of the city. Now he will be gone for 5 weeks and come back and try catch up with paper work which will take another 2 weeks then you are into the summer holidays. So the people of Limerick will have to wait 9 to 10 weeks for the demolition of these eye soars which the regeneration and the Limerick City Council left. This is a disgrace said Tom Daly, Chairperson of the MRA. It is just unbeleivable what they can do. The MRA will be writing to the department of environment about this and we will be also writing to the E.U. This is going against all thats in the Fitzgearald report. Instead of doing the right thing they have demolishers doing nothing, why dont they get them in immedietly to knock these house instead of having people putting up with anti-social behaviour which is wasting the Gardai's time as they are busy enough as it is. Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA.
May 20th, 2012 On the 20th of May 2012 we had the Monks Vs Munster Sporting Hero's in Shelbourne Park Limerick which was a big success. There was upwards of 2000 people who attended and this was good to see and open peoples eyes for suicide awareness and try help people that are feeling down and depressed that they can go to these centres like pieta house and get help. We would like to take our hat off to Jamie Daly and his committee for getting this event off of the ground which was an awful lot of hard work. The MRA was unendated with phone calls thanking Jamie for such an event and also thanking Limerick Fc and Pat O Sullivan for all the support and also anyone that donated to the cause and also and big thanks to Paddy Hartnett and Mick O Driscoll, John Delaney, Pat Short, Paul Mc Grath, Tony Cascarino, Teddy Sheringham and also all of the people in Cork who tried to open peoples eyes to try to stop this high rate of suicide. We would also like to congratulate the winners of the game The Munster Sporting Hero's in which it was a very highly intense game and of course not forgetting the monks who played a great game. Tom Daly, Chairperson of MRA. May 15th, 2012 The MRA Moyross Residents Alliance were a part of a delegation on Tuesday the 15th of May 2012 in the Liberty buildings in Dublin which involved all of the communities in Ireland who is under the regeneration remit. It was unbelievable the stories that the people told after 17 years of regeneration. The conditions they were left in, infrastructures broken up, school population again halved, people displaced and not knowing what was coming next, it was a disgrace. Now we find this very disturbing said Martin as we are 5 years into regeneration and the same thing has happened to us, that is why we are working with CAN to get a petition through to the E.U and let them know what is happening to the people of these areas. Down here in Limerick they are all at logger head with each other on the regeneration board. They do not know what they are doing, they have wasted 116 million and nothing to show for it and they are actually going on local and national press admitting they are wrong, even Jan O Sullivan our Minister have admitted that the regeneration board are at logger heads and Brendan Kenny has admitted it. If you come out to parts of Moyross you can see the infrastructure is all broken up. Its a disgrace said Martin we hope to god that when this new committee is formed that they will go into direct dialogue with the MRA, The BWGRA and get things right this time and get local elections and get people voted in, in the areas like Moyross, South Hill, Weston and St. Marys Park. This was a big success in Dublin because there were half of the local people on the boards and they can bring an awful lot to the table. Vice chairperson, Martin O Halloran.
April 30th, 2012 Due to a meeting last Monday night in a undisclosed place, there was a meeting called by Fr. Pat Hogan to form a Regeneration Committee and to meet with Mr. O Loughlin the new CEO of the Regeneration of the Limerick Estates. The Moyross Residents Alliance find this very disappointing as they did not engage with the residents and invite the residents and make this a public meeting as this committee some of these people were on the last board for 5 years and nothing materialized just money wasted, our infrastructures broken up and they have the cheek to do this behind peoples back and try jump on the gravy train again. It is not on said Tom Daly Chairperson of the Moyross Residents Alliance. We are calling for elections from within all the different areas for local residents to be on a committee that indulge with the council and the new committee of the Regeneration. This is the only way the Regeneration process can be brought forward. It has to be with the residents involved because we are the people on the ground in these areas and we know what the people want, to make our areas a better and safer place to live.
April 26th, 2012 A big congratulations to the Moyross A team who won their league again. This we have to say is fair play to the management who has somehow managed to bring this team to win the leagues 5 years in a row which was never done before. This is down the hard work of the management committee and the hard training the lads put in. Again it goes to show the great spirit that is in the people of Moyross. We would also like to congratulate the B team who won their league also. We hope the new regeneration committee come on board with the management of both teams and help them out with some funding. We would also like local businesses to get on board as all these lads has proved themselves over and over again. Vice Chairperson of MRA Martin O Halloran.
April 26th, 2012 Vice Chairperson of the MRA would like to send a special thanks to Jamie Daly on the very very hard work himself and his committee are doing with the Monks Vs Munster Sporting Hero's. It is unbelievable the amount of travelling that Jamie and his committee have done in going to Dublin, Cork and Kerry and England Meeting people to try and raise funds for this event to promote suicide awareness. It is amazing the response and phone calls that the MRA are getting from people and local businesses thanking James and his committee for the time that they are putting into it. We hope to see you all on the 20th of May in Shelbourne Park is the message i got from James Daly to give to the people of Limerick. Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson MRA.
April 25th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance and the residents of Moyross would like to thank all the people who donated to help us buy the statue of our lady and a special thanks to Willie Ryan of Ryan's Locksmiths in William Street who gave a big donation towards the statue. It is great to see the people of Limerick getting involved and helping the people of these regeneration areas. Its a pity that the Regeneration didn't take a page out of their book and look after the people properly in these areas. Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA.
April 17th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to thank Tom Cassidy and Jimmy Cassidy for collecting the rubbish above in the Delmege Park Community Garden. It is great to see our own involved and helping out. We would be lost without the help of the local people.
April 16th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance chairperson and vice chairperson would like to thank Tinnelly demolition for the demolition carried out on Buckleys shop in Delmege Park. It is unbelievable what you can see when you come into Delmege Park and all the residents are delighted. We have one more terrible eye soar, a house down from where the shop was {property of Conor O Donoghue}. Conor told Tom Daly on a phone conversation that he was going into Mr. Paul Foley of Limerick City Council to talk about handing over this property to get it demolished. That was five to six weeks ago and unfortunately nothing has materialized out of it. We hope Conor see's the way his property is causing terrible problems for the residents of Delmege Park and we call on him to have it demolished. -=
March 28th, 2012 Its great to see Buckley's shop being finally demolished, the MRA has been campaigning for years to have it demolished. The neighbors in Delmege park are delighted to see it gone. Its been a haven for anti-social behavior and it also stopped people coming in to visit relatives in Delmege, the minute they see the shop they would turn around said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA. It is also great to see Tinnelly's demolition doing a tidy job and keeping health and safety standards very high and also having banks men watching the barriers and also men guiding the traffic to and from the site. We are showing a video portraying the standards Tinnelly Demolition has and keeping the residents safety in mind at all times. We Wish they all could be the same? But unfortunately that can not be as other companies does not keep health and safety of residents in mind in our regeneration areas.
March 21st, 2012 A big thank you to Tinnelly Demolition for all the great work they done in the regeneration of limerick and peter madigan who is foreman with them who indulged with the people and done work after other demolishers left in a dangerous situation, walls falling down and dangerous man holes left open said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA and we would like to thank him also for hiring local people and giving much needed jobs to the local communities and disadvantaged people of the regeneration areas and we would like to thank again peter madigan again for indulging with the residents of the regeneration areas and going into dialogue with them trying to make the situation right in which he and his company done a wonderful job. Keep up the good work. Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson of MRA again would like to thank Tinnelly Demolition for averting a bad accident or maybe worse someone may have been killed in which you can see photos above. When Tinnelly demolition were approached about this man hole which was left open by another demolition company Martin Tinnelly said he would supply a new man hole cover and frame and fit it for the people in Delmege Park and he said if it diverts a bad accident its worth it to Tinnelly Demolition in which they did not charge the people anything they paid for it out of their own pocket.
March 21st, 2012 A big congratulations to Jamie Daly Chairperson for Events MRA and LRA, John Keyes of Arsenal Football Club, Pat O Sullivan of Limerick F.C, we would also like to thank RTE and Red paw Media and Miriam, Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA, Martin O Halloran, Cathal Mc Carthy and Matt Collins of the BWGRA. Here are some photos of the work that Jamie is doing in his social regeneration with the kids. It is just fantastic to see 30 kids all training and playing soccer. Why Mr. Kenny and co. could not do this the Limerick Regeneration Process would have been a showcase for all of Ireland and Europe in what could have been archived said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA. The MRA would like to give special thanks to Pat O Sullivan Limerick F.C, John Lyons of Arsenal F.C, Paddy Hartnett and a special thanks to Jamie Daly Chairperson for Events with the MRA as this would have not went ahead without his input. We hope the people will come out in may and donate to the suicide awareness charity soccer match as god knows we are after burying an awful lot of youth in Limerick and county, so come out and support the Munster Challenge Cup in aid of Pieta House, 13 May from 2:00 PM as all donations are very welcome.
March 14th, 2012 A big congratulations to James Daly of Delmege Park and the work he is doing with the kids, as only for him Moyross would not be what it is today with all the work he is doing and we the people of Moyross and all the regeneration areas say to you Jamie keep up the social regeneration and work with the youth because its the likes of you that keep the kids smiling and you are turning them away from anti-social behavior and crime. Here are some photos of kids in our garden and kids with James in the football astra pitch.
March 14th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance brought reporters from the national papers to look at the way the people had to put up with a derelict shop and house in Delmege Park which the people had to put up with anti-social behavior in which was unbearable, neighbors windows being broke, fires being lit in both house and shop there was one elderly couple frightened for their lives which was highlighted on RTE Prime time and still nothing has been done about it. The MRA recently got the shop boarded up as we had no other option then to get the national papers involved as there is nobody listening to our pleas, this is Moyross and this would not happen to any other place other than Moyross. Again according to the regeneration agency everything is hunky dorey in Delmege Park in Moyross, this is disgraceful and will not be tolerated by residents said Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson of the MRA and LRA. Here are some photos of the shop and house.
Due to a phone call from Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA to Connor o Donoghue owner of a derelict house in delmege park (photos above) Connor o Donoghue said to Mr. Daly that he would be ringing Paul Foley in Limerick City Council and making arrangements to have this house demolished as Mr. Daly told him it was dangerous to the public and someone was going to be maimed or hurt or worse Killed. So we the residents told Mr. O Donoghue this and he agreed with us and got on top of this immediately. Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA.
March 13th, 2012 Thanks for the sign Mr. Kenny but what is printed on it never materialized.
February 16th, 2012 We are showing this video on behalf of a home owner in number 2 Delmege Park Moyross Limerick. Smiths Demolition built this gable end and its seperating out from the top. There is water leaking into the house. We had to highlight this issue because the homeowner went to Tracy Mc Elligot of the local forum and she was told that there is nothing they can do about it that the house was signed off on. We think this is disgracefull said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA that these demolishers can do shady work adn get away with it. It only happens in Moyross and we are not going to let them away with this. Smiths Demolition should come back out and rectify this problem. How is it that Tinnelly's Demolition and their builders done all this work in Moyross and we got no complaints what so ever? We are unendated with calls about Smiths and Kellys Demolition. This can not keep going as this woman in number 2 Delmege Park has not got the money to go over work that was already done and it is now up to Smiths Demolition to put this right and look after this home owner. We will update you soon about this story. We will update you on how this progresses and we will be writing letters. You will be able to see the damage to the house in the video below. Vice Chairperson of the MRA and LRA Martin O Halloran.
February 16th, 2012 The Moyross Residents Alliance Chairperson Tom Daly is very worried that locals tradesmen are not getting any work. Thomas o Kelly of Kelly's Demolition signed an agreement with tradesmen that he would employ locals to provide local employment where possible in regeneration areas. Unfortunately when these tradesmen went up they were told they could start the following day and when they went up the following day they were told there was no work for them. Now this is very demoralizing for these tradesmen as they had all their kit with them and then kelly's turned around and told them there was no work. This is very upsetting. We the MRA have a letter from Thomas o Kelly of Kelly Demolition saying he is willing to work and provide the employment for these people and this letter can be seen on the internet. Now there is more health and safety issues with kelly demolition, they were building a gable end of a house in college avenue and they were using banned materials ''cavity blocks'' which were banned in the 70's. These materials are not fit for building houses.
February 09th, 2012
February 01th, 2012 Due to a public meeting in the south hill center, Jan O Sullivan our T.D and our minister for housing asked a question four times ''did anyone know how many local people were employed on the Cliona Park Project?''. Not one person from within the Regeneration Agency or the local forums or limerick city council could stand up and tell Jan O Sullivan how many locals were employed. Mr Daly Chairperson of the MRA and LRA had to stand up and tell our minister how many people were employed within the Cliona Park Project. We the people of the Regeneration areas think that it was a disgrace that when our own agency who have overseen the Regeneration of Limerick City could not answer our minister. It tells us one thing, they had no interest in locals getting jobs in our areas. Again it goes down to one thing, bad management in the agency it also came to light that Brendan Kenny went to individuals houses and called to people in Moyross. Well I was unendated with calls saying that Mr. Kenny never called to anyone's houses homeowners or tenants. He most certainly did not call to Delmege Park where Mr. Daly lives but a couple years ago he did call to Mr Tom Baker and offered him 30.000 for his home when the man was sick and said ''what do you expect? Your living in a mini Baghdad''. We the people of the regeneration areas hope to God that our minister Jan O Sullivan and Phil Hogan will come into dialogue with the residents of Moyross, South Hill, Weston and St Mary's Park and we get this new Regeneration Committee working with the people. Tom Daly Interview with 95fm regarding jobs in Cliona Park Project.
January 25th, 2012 Where have all of our communities gone? Due to Mr. Kenny's regeneration of all our estates Mr. Kenny has killed off the spirit of the people in these areas all the schools are nearly empty all the houses are knocked nothing is built and he has the cheek him and brendan hayden second in command to ask the people not to leave these areas said Tom Daly community activist. It is bad when you hear government ministers calling it a scandal what happened here and other regeneration areas. We the people agree that there is 116 million gone with no new houses built and people displaced. All the promises about locals being hired that never materialized, home owners bought out for pittance, tenants tormented with anti-social behavior which is still rife in these areas. No drug addicts clinic where people can go in sit down talk and get advice which we were promised in the Fitzgerald report and that is why our suicide rate is so high. We hope the new regeneration committee whoever it may be will learn from mr. kenny's mistakes and work with the people of these areas said Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson MRA.
January 14th, 2012 What happens next Mr. Kenny? Mr. Kenny is asking people to stay one minute and the next minute he says that people are living in conditions that are not acceptable, this is a cause of negativity and he can understand why people in these areas are fed up as they know nothing has changed. Again he said that he and limerick city council are working with people of these areas to get them out. We the people of these areas want to stay. Brendan Kenny does not know what he is doing. You are in fact ruining our communities. People did not want you in the regeneration of the estates in Dublin then you were put down here you and your committee and spent all that money and tried to say that it worked. You must be crazy said Mr. Tom Daly Chairperson MRA. It was also promised in the building of the new apartments in moyross that locals will be employed. As far as we can tell there are only 4 people employed and the rest are not from regeneration areas. It also has come to light that a plastering contract of the cliona apartments has been granted to a cork company. Why in the honor of god can you not step in there and get our own carpenters and plasters working. Minister Jan O Sullivan made a vow to us the people left in the regeneration areas that she will stand by us. I hope her promises don't fall on deaf ears because god knows that we can do with being told the truth. At the moment Mr. Kenny is breaking every rule both in the E.U and Irish Constitution. We the people of the regeneration areas in limerick are going to bring a case to the court of european justice as we have people working on that at the moment. We are not going to have our rights taken away from us. There are decent hard working people in these areas and we want to do the work on our own areas and not to see strangers building our areas said Tom Daly Chairperson of MRA. I also remember going down to the school to collect my grand child and there would normally be lots of parents there and have chat. That is all gone now the parents and the kids are gone. That is all down to our regeneration committies and council's. We the people of moyross are trying to hold on to what we have. So I say to the people of all regeneration areas, Try make the best what you have because you can travel Ireland and you wont find community spirit like the spirits of the people in these regeneration areas said Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson MRA.
January 12th, 2012 The Regeneration Debate on Newstalk with George Hook, Brendan Hayden and John Gilligan. While it was great to hear Councilor John Gilligan of the Regeneration Committee St. Mary's Park on newstalk on Thursday 12th of January. He was talking to his second in command of the Regeneration Brendan Hayden. These people did not represent the views of the people of Moyross said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA. Mr. Brendan Kenny went on national radio and said all the good people are gone out of Regeneration areas, then he went back on it and said he did not mean that then he puts Mr. Hayden on national radio, another man who insulted the people of the regeneration areas of limerick Mr. Hayden the people who are representing residents in these areas by calling them ''Factions''' which in saying that he should be ashamed of himself. These people are working hard to make regeneration work, by writing letters to TD's and also working with Limerick City Council hand in hand to make the Regeneration project work. The hard facts about the agency is that they did not know what they were doing. We are nearly 5 years down the line now and there was not one house built. What happened the Fitzgerald Report and the Master plan in which they said you will see your new house being built and all you had to do was carry your cases across the road. As far as the people of Moyross are concerned the only thing that was built was the Delmege Park Community Garden in which that was built and funded by the people of Moyross. It cost a lot of money and Mr. Kenny did not contribute one brass cent. But a big question mark lies over Mr. Kenny and his committee, Where in the honor of god did the 116 Million go? The school in Moyross has gone way down in its pupils, half of the people are gone and the jobs promised for the locals where never materialized. As for the debate on the radio today between these two committee members there was no mention of any jobs. How in the honor of god could this work. All we are being fed is lies the whole time Regeneration Agency is around. We hope this changes when the new committee is formed. Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and Martin O Halloran Vice Chairperson of the MRA.
January 11th, 2012 Due to demolition of houses at the end of December 2011, four houses in good condition were demolished in Delmege Park numbers 141 to 145. Two of these houses had brand new central heating installed only a few months prior to this demolition also insulation of the walls was done at the same time. About 18 months prior to this all these four mentioned houses had all windows and doors replaced with brand new double glazing. How in the honor of god can Regeneration justify this. There was no effort made to salvage these very expensive fittings. A complete waste of money. Whoever was in charge at the top for all these demolitions in Moyross and other areas should be held accountable for a waste of the tax payers money at a time when the country is suffering severe austerity budgets. This has come to light to the MRA and had to outline these issues to publicize the scandalous waste in a bankrupt country said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA.
January 11th, 2012 Yesterday chief executive of the Regeneration Agency Brendan Kenny said ''it is essential that the momentum of the work is kept going'' its a pity he didn't say that and start the work 3 years ago, he had the money and he still built on a green area so why in the honor of god did he wait so long. We the people of the regeneration areas hope to god that whoever takes the reigns when Mr. Kenny and his Dublin clique is finished that they look after the people properly and go as best they can with the Master Plan and the Fitzgerald Report and listen to the people of the regeneration areas, they are the people that has suffered through this regeneration committee. We asked Mr. Kenny years ago about his depopulation process and now he goes on the local paper and says that he hopes the people does not leave the areas. Too little too late. We the people of the regeneration have faith in our own councils and we know that they can form a powerful committee across Limerick and look after peoples needs in Limerick and the MRA and Limerick Regeneration Association are going to work hand in hand with the councils and whoever is involved in getting this regeneration process kept going strong. Vice Chairperson of MRA Martin O Halloran.
January 10th, 2012 A big congratulations to all the sporting stars, The Bobby Ryan's, Keith Earls, John Thorpe and a massive thanks to Tina O Gorman for all the money she raised for charity and a big thank you to James Daly and his committee for giving the residents of the regeneration areas all the happy events like, Monks V Gardai, Stars in the Hood, The Limerick Toy Show and a big thank you for the MRA and the Monks of Moyross who built the beautiful community garden in Delmege Park. We would also like to thank Philip Power, Dean Quinn, Jude Meaney, John Lyons, Hon Ryan, Val Ward, Kevin and all his helpers giving a hand with the soccer teams and their is an awful lot more we would like to thank. The book was wrote about Moyross '' The Story So Far '' Mr. Frank Prendergast and Fr. O Dea and whoever else was involved with this book should be ashamed of themselves for writing a book that did not represent the true issues and portray a good image that the people of Moyross Represent. So keep up the good work lads, it is the likes of you that keep the good name of Moyross up. Kind regards, Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and Vice Chairperson of the MRA Martin O Halloran.
December 22nd, 2011 Health And Safety Issues with Clancy Builders in Moyross. There was a big truck pouring concrete on top of the new buildings in Cliona Park and when they were finished pouring the concrete the arm of the truck was overhead the main road and concrete was falling from the swinging tube and landing on the road. It was lucky that there was no cars coming either way because if the concrete landed on the windscreen it would have blocked the drivers vision and may have caused a serious accident and also there are big sewage tubes laying against the fencing which is not stable on the main road. Of course it wouldnt have happened anywhere else like Caherdavin, Castletroy or Corbally this would not have been tollerated of course the people of Moyross has to endure all these hardships and health and safety issues. Martin O Halloran is unendated with phone calls about health and safety issues. We hope Clancy Builders see common sense and rectify these issues immedietly, this is not the first time we have had health and safety issues with Clancy's said Martin O Halloran, Vice Chairperson of the MRA.
December 21st, 2011 Talking about poor helping the poor, a resident in Delmege Park Donating a sum of money to help the charities of the Limerick Toy Show and there was a lot more than just one. We at the MRA thank you.
December 21st, 2011 Tom Daly, Chairperson of the MRA was unendated with calls and messages about Mr. Frank Predergast's book ''The Story So Far''. Number 1 its like a fiction book, it left out a lot of stuff eg. sports events, soccer events, rugby events plus individual people from the sporting criterias who all came from Moyross. Fr. Frank O Dea has not got a clue what is happening in Moyross if this is his attitude in this book. The people of Moyross are outraged that certain events which happened in Moyross for the good of the people and certain individuals that help Moyross shake off the stigma attached to it and it certainly was not Fr. O Dea or Mr Prendergast that done that it was the people themselves. Here are many events going back through the years that were done by the people of Moyross, Stars In The Hood, Monks V Gardai, The Limerick Toy Show, The St. Francis Community Garden Delmege Park, First Internationally Known artist to perform in Moyross free of charge to the people was Aggro Santos, X-Factor Stars brought to Moyross and met with the people of Moyross and stayed to take pictures with them. Also many other events were done by the people of Moyross including The Cancer Research Benefit nights, Special Olympics Fundraising, Crumlin Childrens Hospital Fundraising, Share A Dream Benefits, Limerick Youth Service and many many more were helped by the people of Moyross. So where is the story so far now, Not one of these events or sporting hero's where mentioned. So the story so far as told in the book is lies because it did not portray the real Moyross and the real people of Moyross. This was a book that was put together in bits and pieces, photographs taken and put things in the book that certain people wanted to hear and never put in the truth about what was going on in Moyross and the way that the residents of Moyross had to combat the issues themselves. They also said in the book about certain people gave Moyross, St. Marys Park and Weston bad names. But what about the people who put the individuals there? What about the people depopulating the schools of these areas. We will have no schools or community some day as they will all be gone said Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA. So the story so far is a million miles away from the truth. The Moyross Residents Alliance and the Committee of the Limerick Toy Show wish all the people of Moyross, South Hill, St. Marys Park, Weston and all other area's of Limerick for their overwhelming support and helping the misfortunate in Limerick and the other charities. We wish you a Happy Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. THE TRUTH WILL BE PRINTED IN 2012.
December 20th, 2011 We are glad to announce that today the committee of the Limerick Toy Show donated a sum of money to the amount of 1000 euros to Lorraine Moroney from The St. Vincent De Paul Society in Osmond House, Limerick. This money that was donated for the veneruble new poor in Limerick City which some of the people can be seen in camps outside the old Dunnes Stores in Sarsfield Street, Limerick. Community activist and Chairperson of the MRA Tom Daly along with the committee of the MRA would like to thank Jamie Daly, Jason Reddan, Martin O Halloran, Deirdre Murphy, Lisa Daly and everyone else who worked so hard in making the Limerick Toy Show the success it was.
December 11th, 2011 The MRA would like to give big thanks to James Daly and Asteroid Events and Entertainment and his committee for giving us a toy show that was unbelievable, the MRA would like to also thank the people of Moyross and also the surrounding areas of Limerick for turning up and supporting the shows in these such bad times. We would like to thank all of the sponsors who sponsored the show as it would not have happened without them. We hope that when all is finished we make a substantial amount for charities. It was great to see so many kids that was happy and jolly at this toy show. Thank you again to the Limerick people we could not do it without you.
December 10th, 2011 The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to give a massive thanks to John Devan Solicitors and Tinnelly Demolition for their massive input in sponsoring the Limerick Toy Show. Special thanks to Mr. Willie O Dea who was very supportive of the Limerick Toy Show Also.
November 9th, 2011 The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to wish Willie O Dea and his family and Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year and thank Him for Highlighting isses of people in the Regeneration area's.
November 9th, 2011 Tom Daly of the MRA is unendated with calls from residents of all area's on these issues but all of our voices seems to be falling on deaf ears. Mr. Kenny, head of Regeneration said on local papers ''I acknowledge there is still people living in unacceptable conditions but he said there was still progress made'' but how in the honour of god can he say there is progress made if these people are not being looked after properly. We the people say to Mr. Kenny to go to the Minister for Environment and demand answers for these people. Mr. Kenny and co should be doing something for these people who feel lost and living in these conditions coming up to Christmas, after all he is CEO of the Regeneration Agency and his answers is always the same while he understands what is happening but he can do nothing about it. Well if he can do nothing about it, why in gods name has he got a job as CEO of the Limerick Regeneration Agency. We think if he can not do his job properly himself and his committee from Dublin should be replaced immediately.
November 8th, 2011 The Limerick Toy Show is steadily creeping up on all of us as is Christmas and this years Show is set to be the biggest and best Limerick has ever seen. Last night part of the organizing committee came together for a photo with the show's hosts for this year, Sinead Kiely, Michelle Mc Mahon and Venessa Flood. '' I am really excited about the show and what it is going to be like'' said Michelle. The show has been in the planning stage for the last 3 months and now its in building stages. The stage is designed and what we can only describe as a winter wonderland is coming to the L.I.T Millennium Theatre.
Below are some of the images from said photo shoot. (PLEASE WAIT WHILE IMAGES LOAD)
November 7th, 2011 Due to my last conversation with Brendan Kenny CEO of the Regeneration Agency in Limerick, Mr. Kenny assured Tom Daly of the MRA that when the agency is discontinued, Regeneration will keep on going and we hope as residents whoever is in charge that they must continue to work with the residents of the Regeneration area's and helping getting problems sorted for the people and the MRA will bring issues to whoever is in charge and try to resolve their problems of the people in the regeneration area's. The Moyross Residents Alliance Committee would like to wish each and everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
October 11th, 2011 This past Sunday Vice Chairperson of the MRA Martin O Halloran was in Killdysart Co. Clare to give a helping hand in the Share a Dream Foundation Family Day fundraiser. Martin was there along with other local artists Marion Kelly and Rachel Prior also among them was Limerick singer Paul O Connor. It was a fun filled day out for everybody there said Mr. O Halloran. Working alongside the Share A Dream Foundation has been a massive honour. The people at Share A Dream are very nice and really go out of their way to make you feel welcome. I really look forward to be working with this foundation again in the coming months and keeping dreams alive.
October 5th, 2011 The Moyross Residents Alliance and all the residents of Moyross would like to wish Keith a Happy Birthday and a big congratulations from all the people of Moyross on his achievements in the World Cup. Also Keith has broken all records being the First ever Moyross man to Score in the World Cup and be featured on Rugby Games on Games Consoles known worldwide. Keep up the good work Keith. We are all Very Very Proud of You
October 3rd, 2011 See Press Release The Lies We Were All Fed About Local Job Opportunities In Moyross
September 29th, 2011 Residents in Moyross and South Hill are very worried with the de population of our schools. If this keeps up with the de population of the people of Moyross and South hill, there will not be a need for any schools in these areas, its disgraceful said Mr. Daly community activist and Chairperson of the MRA. Why can't they just do as they promised and build our new houses in sections and have a building knock process where people can be taken out of their old house and put into their new one or do they have another agenda? Ok they are building apartments in Cliona Park but these are for the elderly this will not add any new students into the schools. You often wonder what the Regeneration Agency and the Department for Education are thinking. Again they just need to get their act together and build the houses.
September 14th, 2011 See Press Release Tenants Feel Threatened
September 13th, 2011 It has come to the attention of community activist and Chairperson of the MRA Tom Daly that the work that was supposed to be finished by Smiths Demolition in 30 Delmege Park was not done. The cables were left hanging from the fascia board had to be done by a private electrician. Mr O Carrol the owner of this house was assured by Smiths Demolition that there was an order put into Chorus to do same. When he checked with Chorus there was no such order. This is disgraceful said Mr O Carrol. There are some more issues that were not sorted out. How can they expect homeowners and tenants to work with Limerick city Council and Regeneration Agency if these ''Cowboy Demolishers'' are not doing their jobs properly. Half Finished Work? They expect people to spend money that people have not got to finish their work for them. This is unacceptable and is disgraceful. Again we take our hat off to Tinnellys Demolition for the first class work they are doing and finishing the jobs to the residents satisfaction.
August 26th, 2011 The MRA would like to acknowledge and thank Clancy Builders for erecting signs on their fences to use the other footpath and signs to also say that they are sorry for the inconvenience caused. It goes some of the way but the people of Moyross would prefer if the fence was put inside the pathway as the fence is very unstable at the moment. We do acknowledge that there is building going on there but again all the MRA is worried about is incase someone is hurt or god forbid killed.
August 22nd, 2011 Vice Chairperson Martin O Halloran of the MRA and Mr. Roy Flanagan would like to thank all the people who turned up on our night for the Irish Cancer Society held in Bentley's O Connell Street Limerick. BELOW FROM RIGHT TO LEFT ARE: ROY FLANAGAN AND MARTIN O HALLORAN. ORGANISERS OF THE EVENT. Martin o Halloran and Roy Flanagan would like to thank all the guest artist and our Special Guest Marion Kelly who stole the show in a terrific performance. She went down and danced among the guest and had everyone singing which can be seen in the following photos. This event raised much needed money for Cancer Research Ireland. The cheque will be presented when all of the proceeds are in and counted. Again we must say to the people of Limerick for all your support in this worth while event. Thank you. Martin O Halloran, Vice Chairperson of the MRA
August 12th, 2011 Health and Safety with Clancy Builders
August 1st, 2011 Press Release Stars in the Hood
July 27th, 2011 Press Release Shame on you Mr. Hayden. July 26th, 2011 Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA would like to thank the following Martin O Halloran, James Daly, Deirdre Murphy, Angela McNamara, David McNamara, Peter Ryan, Michael Mannion, Fr Palous, Jason Hamilton for all their hard work they done in our beautiful garden which is now coming up to the second anniversary. We the Moyross Residents Alliance are very proud of the garden which we built and it shows what the people can do without any funding from Regeneration. We hope to see more allotments of land and fair play to Limerick City Council in all the help they gave us with getting our garden together. Let there be many more allotments. Moyross Residents Alliance. July 25th, 2011 The MRA attended a broadcast by Limericks Live 95fm this past week at Watch House Cross Library with Joe Nash. There were certain issues brought up by Mr Chris Duhig and Mr Ray O Halloran which were straight to the point but there were other issues brought up by Misses Geraldine Clohessy on issues in the Community Centre about their summer camp which cost the parents of the kids money but there were nothing said about the Franciscan Friars who brought kids from Moyross out on their summer camp and day trips in coaches to Mountain Climbing, Rock Climbing, Swimming and other activities. I did not see Misses Clohessy's community centre getting involved and helping the Friars in paying the expenses in these trips. The only ones giving a hand was the MRA in paying for fuel expenses and also adult members of the MRA who went on these trips and donated their time FREE. Also the MRA were not invited to attend the Live Debate held in the watch house cross Library as that the MRA is the biggest alliance in Moyross, so have we got split communities in Moyross? We the people of Moyross think it was disgraceful that Joe Nash and 95fm did not invite the MRA to attend this debate. Also Chairperson of the MRA gave Ann Marie of Joe Nash's show a poster of ''Stars in the Hood'' which is happening in Delmege Park the 31st of July and 2pm. This will be a big concert type event and is also celebrating the second anniversary of our community garden in Delmege Park. They said they would mention it but they did not and that sent out a clear signal to the people of Moyross that 95fm is discriminating against them which is not only legally wrong but morally wrong but were are used to it at this stage. The MRA are working hand in hand with Limerick City Council and The Regeneration Agency in getting the demolition process ahead especially in Delmege Park as the MRA had to intervene with home owners and tenants to get houses demolished. The MRA would also like to thank Brendan Kenny the CEO of Regeneration and also Limerick City Council on their rapid response in getting 29 Delmege Park knocked. This is the way forward and that is progress in the Regeneration of our estates. The MRA would like to thank Peter Madigan of Tinnelly's Demolition and also Tinnelly's for their good work and keeping health and safety in mind at all times as the MRA done a survey of Delmege Park of home owners and tenants and they said they were very happy with their work and in the way the place was left lovely and tidy.
July 24th, 2011 Tonight Sunday evening 24th of July 2011 there was a burned out car in front of a privately owned ran down house and this house is belonging to Connor o Donoughue. This house is in a derelict state and it should be knocked as the people of Delmege Park no longer want it there anymore, they are writing to Limerick City Council and the MRA will be doing up a petition and handing it into the council to have the house repossessed under the derelict sites act as it is a danger and now the front of the house is cracked and is in danger of falling down on kids. So Mr o Donoughue should come out and get it secured or give it back to the council and let the council demolish it as it is a terrible eye sore at this stage and attracting anti-social behavior.
July 4th, 2011 The MRA and The Limerick Regeneration Association also the WGRA and Regeneration Watch would like to congratulate Moyross on winning the Brenan’s competition for the Build a Playground. Big thank you to all the people who voted from the Moyross area and especially the Moyross people it was a very close run race. From all the committees in the Regeneration areas in Limerick.
June 25th, 2011 Due to a monthly meeting with the MRA today full committee meeting with home owners and tenants we would like to thank the following government ministers who acceded to our urgent request. Our request was exceeding the demolition of derelict houses. The following are: Willie Penrose TD Minister for housing and planning, Alan Shatter Minister for Justice and Law Equality, Jan O Sullivan Minister for Trade and Development. We are also in receipt of official letters from the above involving the building of our new houses. As the people now can see our regeneration of Moyross and other areas is going forward especially given the green light to commence the building in Cliona Park. This is the first of 26 construction projects spread over the regeneration areas costing 337 million that hopefully will now be built over the next four and a half years. We would like to quote on Mr Kenny's statement "the majority of the families of Moyross and other regeneration areas have stayed in the city, while a small number have moved to rural areas of Limerick and Clare". We find this offending by Mr. Kenny as we have a good number of tenants and home owners who were refused to move into rural areas. These tenants and home owners were law abiding and hard working citizens. Tom Baker. When Chairperson Tom Daly questioned Mr. Kenny in Corpus Christi Church he asked him about the prices that he quoted onto one home owner for his house. The price the home owner was offered was 75 thousand euros by Mr. Paul Foley but when the home owner came out of hospital 2 weeks later Mr. Kenny offered the home owner 30 thousand euros and said what do you expect for your dwelling your living in a " mini Baghdad ". We find this very insulting as at least when we are dealing with city council we are getting straight answers and not lies as we have found Mr. Kenny out in many of his lies even on National radio. We also have to question Chairperson of their so called forum Ms. Bond as she said on National Tv "she represents all the people in Moyross” which is crazy said Mr. Daly. He or the committee of the MRA and its residents never heard of Ms. Bond. So it’s about time Mr. Kenny got his act together and start working with the people in Moyross and especially the Moyross Residents Alliance who is working hand in hand with Limerick City Council and Michael Kelly of Northside Regeneration Agency in taking Regeneration process forward. Chairperson of the MRA Tom Daly
June 24th, 2011 Mr Daly was down at the signing of the contracts today for the building of Cliona Park in Watch House Cross the Regeneration offices which was supposed to be on at 2:30 but was put back between 11:00 and 11:30? Wonder Why? Mr Daly can now tell the people of Moyross in speaking to engineers representing Clancy's Builders that the ground work will commence after the builders holidays first Tuesday of August. Also Mr Daly would like to congratulate Clancy's Builders for getting this contract, Mr Daly stated to the people representing Clancy's on this memorious day which is one of the biggest days in the history of Limerick that we look forward to working with them and also help them any way we can. Mr Daly and the people of Moyross can not understand that it was all done behind closed doors. Tom Daly said it was "Disgraceful in the way it was handled by Mr. Kenny and company " after all it is our futures that are at steak in this Regeneration process. And again our own people on Mr. Kenny's forum have left the people down, everyone in the Regeneration area's should have been invited and have a public meeting and that people could ask questions again Mr. Kenny the people of Moyross can not believe you have done that, but it calls in again to question your leadership and your family and people working with you on your agency from Dublin but maybe we just have to put up with it a bit longer as your contract expires shortly and maybe we can get Limerick people on the Regeneration agency board headed by Paul Foley. So the best of luck to us here in Moyross and all the Regeneration areas as god only knows we need it. Chairperson of the MRA Tom Daly.
June 23rd, 2011 The MRA would like to acknowledge and thank Limerick City Council and North side Regeneration Agency for the brilliant work they are doing with the demolition of houses in Moyross. We would also like to thank Tinnelly's Demolition for their excellence in Health and Safety work they are caring out through these demolitions and again thank them for hiring locals. The MRA would like to thank Mr. Chris Duhig for all the hard work he is doing in going around and knocking at doors with Mr Daly Chairperson of MRA and getting into dialogue with tenants and owners and getting the houses knocked beside them. He is the only one in the Moyross forum who is sitting down with people and explaining to them what is happening, unfortunately people do not acknowledge what he is doing so keep up the good work Chris. The people of all Regeneration areas need more people like you. The MRA would also like to thank Mr Paul Foley for all the hard work he put into getting the hand ball alleys and the astra turf surface redone for us and Michael O Kelly who put allot of time into it. These people can not be forgotten as these are the people who stood with us and brought Regeneration forward, unfortunately it was slow but we are getting there slowly but surely. It won’t be long more now and the new apartments and houses in Cliona Park will be starting. The MRA would like to thank the block layers and plasterers who built St. Francis community garden which was funded by Tom Daly Chairperson of the MRA and also thank Jason Hamilton and the Monks for the work they have done for us. This community garden shows what can be built by the people in bad times. We would also like to thank Mike Griffin and Delores for helping with Tom Daly with the upkeep of the garden and feeding of the ducks and hens. We would also like to thank Frank Ryan for the water and electricity and of course our local electrician Declan Carroll who done all the wiring of the garden for us. Tom Daly walked around Moyross on Monday evening and you could see the difference with all the boarded houses gone. This is what Regeneration is about. We hope shortly to have the shop knocked in Delmege Park and there is also another private house down from the shop. The MRA are negotiating with the owner of the house in hope to get it knocked within the next few weeks. So the MRA says to all its residents to do their bit and help the Regeneration process going forward.
June 12th, 2011 Due to a meeting with businessman Ray O Halloran of speedline engineering. Thomas Daly Chairperson of the MRA understand that Mr O Halloran got planning permission for trading units beside his own business in Moyross to facilitate from 50 to 100 youths and train them in different areas of work, if one youth did not like one project they could put him onto another, something like they done in England and Scotland where it was a big success. As I understood this project was supposed to be funded by the Regeneration for 5 years but this fell through as Regeneration Agency went back on their original offer which put Mr. O Halloran in a very embarrassing position. So we the people of the regeneration areas thought this would have been a big success and these youths could have got courses with Mr. O Halloran project which would help them and build them up to get a degree in what they liked and possibly get them places where they could find employment so we do not know why the Regeneration and the government did not get behind Mr. O Halloran and help him and give him the funding he needs. That makes sense. After all Mr. O Halloran was putting his own money into this as well. Chairperson of MRA Tom Daly.

May 29th 2011 Due to a meeting of the Limerick Regeneration Agency, Limerick City Council and Dept of Environment 4 weeks ago. It has come to attention of MRA Chairperson Tom Daly that otters comes before peoples lives and of the residents of Moyross that a certain individual from meelick stood up at the meeting and said that there would be a lot of otters killed due to the progress of the road while us the residents of Moyross feel very sad about that but surely people must come before the community of the northside Moyross especially. Why should we have to suffer for this as this is morally wrong said Mr Daly. The whole process is delayed six months this is surely wrong as the new road in Moyross is very important in our regeneration process. Also they are worried about Brendan Kenny's comment on radio that he could not guarantee jobs for the people within the regeneration area's. Surely he can sit down with these people who are getting these contracts and put a clause in stating that they have to take on people from the regeneration areas at least 25 to 30 percent. There I also talk about an industrial zone in Coonagh which was promised to Moyross which is in the master plans but now it is only light industry for Moyross. We feel very let down the way things are going as the master plans and Fitzgerald Report is being pushed aside. We the people of the regeneration areas say to you Mr. Kenny and your agency this is MORALLY WRONG. So why not get the people of the regeneration areas and of Limerick off of the Dole and back to work. Chairperson Tom Daly of Moyross Residents Alliance.
May 28th, 2011 - Health and Safety Issues about demolition of houses in Moyross. It has come to the attention of Chairperson Tom Daly that there was an awful lot of Health and Safety issues with Kelly's Demolition. The first day they were knocking houses in Delmege Park there were warning signs and barriers erected and staff manning the barriers which was great to see, but the following day they had no signs or barriers to give warning of heavy machinery at work as if they just didn’t care. We had a couple of very close calls the last time Kelly's were knocking houses in out square said Mr. Daly. One of Kelly's fence's on Mr. Ryan's property of 51 Delmege Park nearly split Mr. Ryan it also fell on Mr. Larkin’s tripod for holding his moving camera which can be seen on the documentary film "Round the Roundabout" by Nick Larkin. There was a very close call last Friday when one of the big machines driving from one side of Delmege to the other nearly hit my child. These mishaps can not continue as Health and Safety and people's lives come first.
We will say one thing about Smiths and Tinneleys Demolition crew, they had barriers and heavy machinery signs erected and personnel working all through the demolition process. We would like to compliment them on that and also on their efforts in hiring local people and keeping health and safety issues in mind at all times. Tom Daly Chairperson of MRA
May 27th, 2011 Where the MRA are happy with a lot of good work being done by the Regeneration but the most important thing at the moment for all the Regeneration Areas are Clinics for the Drug Addicts and advice centre's where we can try and stem the flow of suicides of young people in these areas. We need to get involved with Regeneration and the HSE and start getting these clinics up and running. HOW MANY MORE WILL HAVE TO DIE UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES BEFORE PEOPLE LISTEN?
May 26th, 2011 The MRA would like to thank the Regeneration on their demolition in Moyross. It is great to see the buildings finished and left in good order and we would also like to thank Tinneleys Demolition for the good work they are carrying out and hiring local people, it is great to see the locals involved. The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to thank Chris Duhig and his squad on the block work that they are doing. It is great to see our own local lads involved in it. There should be a lot more companies involving the local residents in the rebuilding of the regeneration areas. It has come to the attention of the Moyross Residents Alliance that Kelly's Demolition does not want to employ any residents from Moyross or the other regeneration area's, surely this can not be acceptable with the very high unemployment in these areas. The MRA would like to thank Seanie Hogan, Delmege Park Resident for the hard work he done in cleaning up all the front of Buckley's shop in Delmege Park which was left in an awful state, broken slates thrown all over the road. Keep up the good work Seanie. May 25th, 2011 The Moyross Residents Alliance would like to let people know that the proposed buildings in Cliona Park is put on hold for the moment.
