Kelly's Health and Safety Issues

Issues With Health And Safety

Due to a meeting with Thomas Kelly of Kelly Demolition Chairperson of the MRA brought up health and safety issues with Mr. Kelly about their company.

Mr. Daly wanted to know a week previous there were no banks men guiding trucks or warning signs or barriers erected while going through the second day of demolition but Mr. Kelly answered “Our safety record is one of the best around” but I told him he was wrong as my own child was nearly run over by a cement mixer truck.
There was no personnel around to guide this truck or other machinery. After all its about the health and safety of peoples live as we had enough near misses in Delmege Park.

g g
We have advised the people to watch their kids when demolition is going on with this company, we also recorded video clips of health and safety rules being deliberately broken, there are also pictures of same.

I also asked Mr. Kelly why he was not taking on people from the regeneration areas, he answered he had an obligation to the people he already had working for him, I said to him you could at least have hired one or two from within regeneration area’s I told him Tinnelly’s had a crew of between seven and ten he brought from Northern Ireland but in fair play to him he made work for another twelve people from within regeneration areas, also Smiths gave some work to the people of the regeneration areas.
